Dot's Diner
Accessibility
Last updated 7 October 2026
We want anyone to be able to read this site, find the hours and place an order. This page says plainly what has been done, what has been tested, and what to do if something gets in your way.
The standard we build to
This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at Level AA.
What that means here
- Every piece of text on the page has been measured against the colour behind it, including text that sits over photographs and video, at the AA ratios of 4.5 to 1 for body text and 3 to 1 for large text.
- Every photograph carries a written description for screen reader users.
- The whole page can be operated by keyboard alone, and the focused element always shows a visible outline. A skip link at the top jumps past the hero straight to the content.
- Headings run in order, and the menu, hours and footer are marked up as real lists and tables rather than loose text.
- Text reflows without sideways scrolling down to a 320 pixel wide screen, and can be enlarged to 200 percent without losing content.
- The hero film carries no information that is not also written on the page, it has no sound, and it never prevents you from scrolling. If you have asked your device to reduce motion, the film does not play at all and a still photograph is shown instead.
- Nothing flashes, and nothing moves on a loop.
Known limitations
- The printed menus are offered as PDFs exactly as the restaurant prints them. Those PDFs are not tagged for screen readers. The same dishes and prices are written out as ordinary text on the main page, which is the accessible route.
- The map is supplied by Google. We control whether it loads, but not what is inside it. The address is written out as text next to it, and there is a plain link to open the location in your own maps app.
- Online ordering happens on Toast, which is a separate company with its own accessibility practices. Orders can also be placed by telephone.

Tell us about a problem
If you hit something on this site you cannot use, tell us and we will fix it. Call (303) 449-1323 or speak to someone at 2716 28th Street, Boulder, Colorado. It helps to know which page you were on and what you were trying to do.
